Week9 PartA

Since the type of business I plan on starting is all about skin and hair care I feel like it is a personal kind of business. I think being personal in this kind of business is very effective because I've been to plenty of skin and hair care shops that are just business which for me made me uninterested in coming back. To me adding personal touches to my posts would attract peoples attention because I have a lot of skin issues and just issues in general with finding products that help soothe my skin. From my own personal experiences on struggling to find something to help and no one to relate to is a struggle and rough. So, I know there are plenty of people out there who also may feel the same and from sharing my own personal experiences with them and why I wanted to start this kind of business would appease potential consumers.  I feel like a lot of the businesses that "specialize" in the area I plan on too are very impersonal online and in person. The only store I got a

The hashtags I mainly used was #AllNatural and #SydneysApothecary the other ones I used were descriptive to whatever product I was posting. I feel like doing that catches peoples attention and plus I also feel like doing #SydneysApothecary like this is easier for people to read and more attention catching. I just used hashtags that came to mind and what I felt like went with what I am trying to promote in my posts. All of my hashtags I used were very specific to my business and products. My first post was on a Friday evening around 4 and my last 2 were Sunday evening as well around 8. But I'm not quite sure what certain times or days are more effective but from doing research on Instagram about other businesses it look like through the week in the middles of the day seems more effective for them. What I learned from this exercise is that how you do your hashtags and how many you use is important to promote your business.

Week8 PartA

I feel like with the type of business I plan on starting that visual media would work great because people like to visually see what kind of products you are promoting. Being able to visually see how the products look give consumers a good visual expectation of your products and entices potential consumers. A company called Origins is a well known company with a big platform of followers consisting of 566,00. This company is similar to what my future business will someday be, they supposedly have all-natural products. Since they are a well known company, on their Instagram they don't use hashtags as much maybe one or two hashtags, the main hashtag that they always use is #DiscoverOrigins. They only get maybe 5% likes from the large amount of followers they do have and it looks like they post everyday. They mainly post small movement videos and since the videos on Instagram are based on views they get a lot of views on those videos. The likes they get that are not on the videos but

One of the small businesses I looked at on Instagram was Divinity Salon & Boutique, they're located in downtown Encinitas. From observing their posts on Instagram it looks like they hardly post about the salon part of the business and mainly about the boutique part. They mainly promote their clothes on their account. But they do have separate stores on the account that they post to about hair or shopping the boutique. The second one I looked at is called Sugaring By The Sea which is also located in Encinitas. They are a waxing business that uses organic hair removal. From looking at their account they post a lot of funny memes about waxing which could reach people for business. They offer discounts as well on their Instagram stories and have a separate story for their sugaring. Here are the classmates I commented on their Instagram posts: https://www.instagram.com/teresajoysart/ https://www.instagram.com/unconditionallovecatanddog/ https://www.instagram.com/thealibibrewingco/

Week6 PartA

The seven Facebook pages I decided to like on my Facebook page are; The Herb Society of America, The Herb Quarterly, Purple Fox Wax Company, Burt's Bees, Sky Organics, Lush, and The Body Shop. So, The Herb Society of America is a blog and I decided to like them because they have a hefty amount of followers that enjoy herbs. With them being a blog I could hopefully be able to get my brand out there for them to blog about my brand. The Herb Quarterly is a magazine that also has a decent amount of followers that I am also hoping to get my brand out there to be published about. Liking both of these pages will be helpful for the future of my business because Facebook has an algorithm so, with people interested in the pages I like my business will pop up in their "for you" page.  Purple Fox Wax Company is actually a friend of mine business that helps me out with questions I have, I liked her page because she already has clientele whom might be looking for natural products sinc

Week5 PartB

Post reach and post engagement are both important to your business page on Facebook because post reach is reaching out to target consumers whom might be interested. It shows up in their news feed and notifies them so, it catches their attention to where they would take a peek at your page. Since it caught their attention then it would resinate with them making them a potential consumer. Post engagement is a consumer showing interest in your page by either liking it, commenting on it, or sharing your page with others. Engaging in a post shows the consumer is interested in what your Facebook page has to offer and they would more likely reach out to you for your services. Studying both parts are important because you can get a better understanding of who is your audience that you are reaching towards. You can see who can be a potential consumer and who is really engaged to more likely be a consumer. Using Facebook insights helps anyone in a business because it's collecting data on yo
