Week3 Part1

 1)

Penny Juice

For Penny Juice the Ease of use is just very simple, they have three pages but two of them are actually one instead of separate pages. Their use of contrast is non-existing besides for their letters being black, other than that the website is full of pastel colors. The concept is there however, they don't offer a menu of their juices they just say they have a wide variety which doesn't tell the potential consumer what to order. Penny Juice's website does not come across as being professionally done because the simplicity of the website. You can still have a professional easy to use website but when it is very simple it does not look professional.

Their website has no rhyme or reason to it, on one page the banner has children on it then the next page the banner has fruit on it. Nothing pairs together, it is all out of balance. I feel like what would improve their website would to just pick three colors, one for contrast and the other two to pop against the contrast. Having more pages for sections because that organizes the content better instead of this two for one page. They should have a menu up on the variety of juices they have to offer for potential consumers to try out. Another thing that would help is some drop down menus if they had a page that was named menu then it drops down into sections of juices to find similar juices as well.

Gates n Fences

Gates n Fences website is very complicated, their is no ease of use existing on this page. It's an overload of information at once that stresses me out just looking at the page. The design colors are very boring and lack because it's just a plain white screen with pops of blue and red for the navigation. Their navigation is a mess because their are too many pages about over fifty pages for each individual thing they do. Their website does not look professionally done because it looks like someone just threw up a bunch of information on a webpage.

Their website does not tie together nicely and is just not very organized. What would improve their website first and foremost is condensing all of the information and having the print a little bit more bigger. A new color scheme would help that tie everything together not just a plain white webpage and then two random colors, like blue and red, that do not coordinate well. Changing their navigation would be fantastic by putting it at the top under their banner and then condensing everything into their own section with drop down menus.

2)

Apple

Well, it is Apple after all so, of course they have the money for a great website. Everything on their page is organized and condensed. It doesn't look like someone threw up a bunch of information on the webpage. The ease of use is there from organization, you know where to go and what your looking at it's not confusing for users. The color is simple but they add nice pops of colors that don't seem too out of place, they make sense. Of course Apple comes across as being professionally made because they are billion dollar company. But, besides that you can tell because of how organized and well put together everything is, everything has its own place.

Their design doesn't confuse me and instantly stresses me because right when I click on the page my eye already knows where to go. It's pleasing to the eye because they put images up of their latest iPhones they have out, which look like they were professionally done. Just from the design it looks like a trusting company because you can tell it's done professionally that it's not some scam website. Everything has it's place making it easier for the viewer on where to go and what they are looking for specifically. All in all the website isn't over the top or too simple, it's easy to use and follow along but they don't have just two pages of content.

National Park Service

I enjoy the one menu bar they have and when you click on it, it drops down in organized topics of what you might be looking for on the website. They offer a variety you can search for whatever park you're looking for or if you have no idea they offer trip ideas. Their design is nice because it's full of pictures and when you hover it shows a preview of what it is if you were to click on it. The website is well organized, there's lots of information but not where it's too overwhelming on a person. Their website does come off as being professionally done by how well rounded it is from the design.

By offering lots of information but not being word vomit at the same time and keeping it condensed in organized sections. My reaction to the use of the website is it's easy because right when you click on the webpage your eye already catches where to go to find the information. Even though they have a decent amount of pictures it's done right by being organized and not placed randomly throughout the webpage. Using the webpage got me excited to where I wanted to plan a trip when I had no plans on going on a trip in the first place. I probably will use the page later sometime to plan a trip nearby now because I didn't know the webpage existed until now.

Comments

  1. Pennyjuice.
I tend to disagree. I enjoyed their website. The header is clean. The information concise. The flavors are less important to the brand than the feel and the convenience. The coloring clearly associates them with children, childcare, and fruit. All of their flavors are available on the "Order Now" page.
    GatesNFences.
    I totally agree.
    Apple.
I enjoyed the site. One of my few issues is with the incongruity between the page background and the section backgrounds. The page background is white, but the sections are off-white. That little bit of difference really set me on edge. It looked as if my screen was malfunctioning.
    National Parks Service.
I agree. I loved the prominent images and grouped text. The site itself feels relaxing.
